Our website includes a scripted intake chatbot (the "Start Intake" button) that introduces herself as Mia, the same name used by our phone receptionist. The chatbot version of Mia is a simple decision-tree script — it is not AI-powered, it runs entirely in your browser, and it does not transmit your answers anywhere until you complete the form at the end. Your choices help us triage your request more effectively.
When you submit the final form, your contact details, selected service category, and the branches you chose are transmitted through Formspree (see above) to our email inbox. The chatbot does not store your conversation, does not use cookies, and does not track you across other websites.
The phone version of Mia is a separate AI service handled by Beside (see "Phone System & AI Receptionist" below). The two share a name and personality for consistency, but they are technically distinct systems.

We use Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and related services) to manage our business communications and records. This means that emails you send us, our replies, contact form submissions routed to our inbox, and related business documents may be stored on Google's servers and processed through their infrastructure. Google processes this data under their commercial Workspace terms, which prohibit using business customer content for advertising purposes. Access to your communications within our Workspace account is limited to Jeff Hamilton and any authorized staff who need it to serve you.
For managed service subscribers and clients who authorize remote support, we use Action1, a remote monitoring and patch management platform. With your consent, Action1 agents installed on your computer allow us to deliver software updates, apply security patches, monitor system health, and provide remote troubleshooting.
When Action1 is installed on your device, it may collect technical information such as operating system version, installed software and patch status, system performance metrics, and security-related events. This information is used solely to provide the services you've contracted for. We do not use Action1 to view your personal files, browser history, passwords, or screen content without your explicit, real-time consent for a specific support session.
You can request that the Action1 agent be removed from your device at any time, including upon cancellation of a managed service subscription. Action1's own privacy and data handling practices are available at their website.
Our business phone line (727-239-6797) is operated through Beside, a business phone and AI receptionist platform provided by Interface, Inc. When you call or text this number, your communication is handled by Beside's infrastructure. This means that calls and text messages may be:
Call recording notice: Florida is a two-party consent state for call recording. When you call our number, you will hear a notice that the call may be recorded before any conversation begins. By continuing the call after the notice, you consent to the recording. If you do not wish to be recorded, you may hang up and contact us by email or text instead.
We use call transcripts and summaries only for legitimate business purposes: providing service, following up on requests, maintaining records of what was agreed, and training our AI receptionist to serve our callers better. We do not sell call data, and Beside's terms prohibit using your call content for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us.
If you have opted in to receive marketing communications from us — for example, by checking a consent box at checkout, during a service appointment, or when subscribing to a managed service plan — we use Square Marketing to send promotional emails and, where separately consented to, text messages. Square Marketing is part of the Square platform we already use for payments, which means we don't share your contact information with a separate marketing vendor.
Marketing messages may include seasonal service reminders, special offers for returning clients, updates about new services, and occasional tech tips. Every marketing email we send includes a clearly visible "unsubscribe" link, and every marketing text allows you to reply "STOP" to opt out. We honor opt-out requests promptly — within 15 days at the outside, as required by Florida law, and typically much sooner.

Opting out of marketing does not affect service-related communications (appointment confirmations, service updates, or billing notifications), which we may still send as part of our service relationship with you.
All payments, including one-time repair charges and recurring subscription billing, are processed by Square. When you pay us, your card or bank information is collected and stored by Square, not by us. We receive only the confirmation of payment and the details necessary to identify the transaction (your name, the service you paid for, the amount, and the last four digits of the card). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this site — which pages get read, how readers navigate the buyer's guides, and where the intake form gets abandoned. This helps us write better content, fix the parts that don't work, and avoid wasting your time with pages that aren't useful.

Google Analytics retains visit-level data for 14 months and then automatically deletes it. Google's own use of the data is governed by their privacy policy. If you would prefer not to be measured at all, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On, enable "Do Not Track" or similar privacy settings in your browser, or block analytics scripts via an extension like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger. None of our site features depend on analytics — opting out won't break anything for you.
We advertise Computer Medic through Google Ads. To understand whether that advertising actually works — whether a click on one of our ads led to a phone call, a contact-form submission, or a guide download — we use Google's conversion-measurement tag (Google Ads ID AW-946587008), which loads alongside Google Analytics from Google's tag manager on the same pages.
We have turned off ad-personalization signals for this tag. In plain terms: we use it to count conversions in aggregate, not to build retargeting audiences, follow you around the web, or personalize the ads you see on other sites. The tag may set a cookie (for example _gcl_au) so Google can attribute a conversion to an ad click; it does not tell us who you are.
If you would rather not be measured this way, the same opt-outs listed above apply, and you can also adjust your Google Ad Settings. As with analytics, the privacy and legal pages are excluded, and none of our site features depend on it.
We use Google Fonts to display the typefaces on this site. When your browser loads these fonts, Google may log your IP address per their standard logging practices.
